I am in the process of building my first boat right now. I am off to the garage as soon as I finish this post. My first boat is just a 14' dory. I am going to cover this entire boat with glass and epoxy.
After this boat, I plan to build the same boat again but I want a wood grain finish instead of the fiber glass. I love the finishes that the wood canoes have. It is that thick and wet looking finish. Are they spraying clear epoxy to get that finish? It sure would make a strong boat to have a thick coat of epoxy that still shows off the wood grain.
Any thoughts, ideas, or input, would be a huge help. Thanks!
I am also documenting the entire build with video on http://www.PureBoats.com
